Family Action

Family Action transforms lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation across the country.

We have been building stronger families since 1869 – today working with over 45,000 families through over 140 community-based services. Thousands more are supported financially through our national small grants programmes.

Reaching out to those in need, we strengthen families and communities, build skills and resilience and improve the life chances of everyone we work with.

Our services are innovative; we believe in the strengths within families and our approach to support which can achieve maximum impact. We seek to empower everyone we work with so we add significant value – to the lives of services users, to those who commission services and to those who create policy and influence change for the future.  Find out more about how we monitor and evaluate our work.

Family Action has a strong and successful history of building stronger families, and as we look to the future our values and behaviours define us and underpin all the work we do. We can achieve our ambitions by always:

  • Being people focused
  • Reflecting a ‘can do’ approach
  • Striving for excellence in everything we do
  • Having mutual respect for everyone we work with, work for and support through our services
