Important Information for Parents

14 September 2020 (by admin)

Dear Parents

Covid-19 Symptomatic Pupils

As expected, we have an increase today of the number of children who are absent due to having a continuous cough.  Under the current government guidance this means that they are unable to attend school and the household needs to follow the “Stay at Home Guidance” until a negative test result is given.  At this point, as long as the child is well and has not had a temperature for 48 hours, they can return to School immediately (any time of the day).

Today we have children who are showing a symptom in all three of our bubbles - please see the letter with further information on our School website by clicking the link here.  If your device does not support the link, please go to our website and navigate to Parent Information/Covid-19 Information.

Cumbria Public Health have said that it is up to individual schools to decide whether or not to inform parents if there is a symptomatic child within a bubble of the School.  I have always felt that it is important to be open and honest with parents and we will continue to share if there is a symptomatic child – however, we have made the decision not to inform of any subsequent cases, as this can cause unnecessary anxiety.  We will inform you when all case/cases in your child’s bubble have been given a negative result and then again if there is another symptomatic case following this.

You will need to remain alert for symptoms in your child at all times.

Live Kitchen/ School Grid

In the Newsletter on Thursday, we asked for all dinners to be ordered from home from today.  Thank you to all those parents who have ordered at home.  If you have not ordered for the week at home - could you, please do so.  This will free up time in the morning for staff to concentrate on learning.   If you require a user name and password to pre-order, please contact the School office on Jotter Message or via email: schooloffice@frizington-pri.cumbria.sch.uk

Breakfast Club and The Den

Our Breakfast Club and Den will resume on Monday 21st of September.  Thank you to all the parents who have completed the expression of interest, it really helped us with our planning.  Bookings can only be made via the online Microsoft Forms.  They will need to be made by the Thursday prior to the week of bookings, ie: by Thursday 17th September for the week beginning Monday 21st of September.  These bookings need to be completed on a weekly basis and also need completed if you have already sent an expression of interest.  If you do require last minute childcare, as always, we will do our best to help and you would need to contact the School office.

Drop-Off and Collection

Can I thank all of you for following the systems that we have in place to keep our children safe.  From today, Year 4 will be collected from the yard to try and limit the congestion at the front entrance.  Just a reminder for Year 3/4 parents, please do not come to School any earlier than pick up time.  Year 3 parents please stand inside the wall at the front until there is no room to social distance and if you do need to stand on the pavement, make sure that you are facing inwards so that other parents can pass safely.  Year 4 parents, please do not access the School yard until the Year 1/2 pupils have been collected.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
