People Matter
Not quite Bondi Beach... but just as much fun!
We have found out that Australia has lots of different habitats. We chose our favourite habitat and made a mini habitat in a shoebox. After that we made a salt dough creature to live in our habitat. We then wrote a title, labels and captions. When we had finished we were so proud of ourselves, we presented our work and learning with our families.
On January 26th we celebrated Australia Day. We worked together with the Year One and Two class. We learnt all about Australia Day, made some yummy Australian treats for a picnic and found out the meaning of the Australian flag. In the afternoon we had a taster of 3 different sports, cricket, volleyball and boomerang throwing, building up our appetites before we had a 'chilly' but sunny picnic outside.
We had a fantastic day! Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We went to see a show at The Sydney Opera House and then in the afternoon we had a surfing lesson on Bondi Beach.
We packed our bags, brought tickets, made passports and came to school ready to catch our 9:30 flight from Frizington Airport to Sydney Australia.
Go to the Archived Photos tab and you will find them all in there!
The reception class had a great time preparing for their Open Afternoon. Just like the story of the Little Red Hen, they made their own bread to share with our visitors. They had to put the recipe in the correct order first using their number skills. They also made some delicious pumpkin and carrott soup too.
A huge warm welcome to our new reception class who had their first day today.

We had a positively perfect pirate day!
Everyone came to school dressed up and we spent the day learning how to be a real pirate. Lesson One: What kind of pirate do you want to be? Lesson Two: Map reading and how to find the treasure? Lesson three: How to build a pirate ship. Lesson Four: What do pirates eat?
