FAO Y1 Parents - Y1 Cohort Return to School

17 June 2020 (by admin)

Dear Parents

Thank you to all of you who took the time to complete the Y1 Survey.  As shared, this was essential in our planning for the reopening of the School.

We had 9 children who had requested a place by Friday, and I am delighted to say that after a few furniture move rounds, we are able to accommodate these place from Monday 22nd June.

We have since had a couple more enquiries about places and unfortunately due to the stipulations of the Risk Assessment and the size of the classrooms, we are unable to accept any more children in to this cohort/bubble.  This is extremely upsetting for staff as we would like nothing more than to see all our children returned safely and we certainly do not like saying no to our families.   The plan that was shared with you initially, shows that  Y1 was to potentially go to full time after next week.  We will review this with parents again and if enough children are requesting places, we will have 2 Y1 groups, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  They will access the identical Maths and English work in these sessions.

Obviously in the meantime, if the guidance around the 2m rule changes, we will review places accordingly.

It is really important that parents think about this and make a decision by the date given when the survey is released, as we may be unable to offer any places at a later date.  If you requested a place for your child and no longer need it, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the place to another child.

For children who are returning, there is a letter for parents on our website:  Parent Information/Covid-19 Information  There is also the Home/School Agreement which needs to be signed and returned on your child's first day.  We will have some spare copies at School but you will need to bring your own pen to sign.

Seesaw tasks will still be set for children who remain at home.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask on headteacher@frizington-pri.cumbria.sch.uk

Take Care

Mrs Rose
